Aita Wellington, MPA(c), BA, CLC

Aita Wellington, MPA(c), BA, CLC is a Community Organizer based in Kalamazoo, MI.

Aita completed her undergraduate studies at Western Michigan University and is pursuing her Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Michigan. She is a champion for immigrant’s rights who exercises her passion as the Immigrant Rights Advocacy Manager for YWCA of Kalamazoo, MI.

Aita is also a staunch advocate for women’s rights and believes health equity is crucial in ensuring that all birthing persons are provided with quality healthcare when they enter any hospital system.  The births of her two sons further cemented this belief for her. She is also passionate about breastfeeding as a health equity issue and is a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC).

Since October 2021, Aita has been the Community Organizer for the QI-TRACS Project with Bronson Methodist Hospital, where she uses her expertise in advocacy to help make system-wide change.
