Although Baby-Friendly does not include staff education requirements for NICU nursing staff, we know that staff assignments in the modern hospital are fluid. In addition, babies’ stays in the NICU are becoming shorter, but their need for human milk is even greater. Including NICU nurses in your training plan not only elevates the care for our most vulnerable, but contributes to the massive culture change we are striving to achieve.
